PANAMA
Plastiglas, SA was founded in Panama City in 1976, by Bernd Schreiber in order to create a variety of plastic containers. Started its operations in 1977 in the industrial urban Los Angeles.The first bottle was produced for the company Esso and had 4 machines (Nissei 1 Auto Rol, Battgenfeld and rubbery.
In 1979, they expand to a larger venue to make packaging for Colgate Palmolive, the pharmacy of the CSS, Delta Petroleum, Texaco. The workforce had by this time was 21 employees, sold other machines like the Nissei 2; the Drink, 4 injectors and 1 assembly.
In 1982 he produced the first PET bottle for carbonated beverages level for Coca Cola Central America with the introduction of 2 liters with glass base, also is rubberized and labeling.
In 1984 he produced for the CIA. Nestle Panama’s first co-extruded bottle in Latin America for the packaging of ketchup.
In the year 1986 Plastiglas, SA moves to Tocumen, 80 workers and 13 machines.
From 3 December 2002 Plastiglas, SA group was part of General Investment Companies.
Since its foundation and start of operations, Plastiglas, SA has been at the forefront, always looking for new trends, technologies and minds. Sample of these minds are the staff working in our company who in one way or another allow the effective development of our organization.
We currently have two production processes: Pet Bottle Blowing and Bottle Blown No Pet.
The force would operate amounts to 285 employees and are located in Via Domingo Diaz, road to Tocumen International Airport.
EL SALVADOR
Plastiglas of El Salvador, SA de CV, a subsidiary of Plastiglas Holding Co., was founded on 11 October 1991. Began its operations producing polyethylene containers for subsequent packaging of lubricants and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) beverage.
In 1996, started exporting container to neighboring countries of Nicaragua, Guatemala and Honduras. Continuing its development, in 2003 the new plant is built and started production with 4 PET preform injection machines and an installed capacity of 40 million preforms per month.
During the years 2004 – 2006 the company consolidates its operations to become the center of preform injection to supply the region. Meanwhile, extending the capacity of blowing to increase the supply of packaging.
In 2008, expanded the facility and install the 9th injection machine, telling the plant with an installed capacity of 97 million preforms per month.
GUATEMALA
Plastiglas de Guatemala, SA officially began operations in November 2002.
In early 2003 marks one of the most important container supply agreements with bottling the Butterfly, Central Leader level in carbonated beverages, under Operation autonomous manufacturing facilities within our client ( “in-house”) PG Mariposa.
At the beginning of the operation averaged 13.6 million monthly blown packaging, today the monthly average reaches over 20 million containers blown over the first half of 2007.
Guatemala Plastiglas two facilities, one located in Carretera al Salvador km.21.5, and the main facilities located in Embotelladora The Butterfly Zone 12 in Guatemala City.
To serve and operate both facilities currently has partners with a high degree of expertise, commitment and attitude of service, including Production, Maintenance, Logistics, Quality, Marketing, Human Resources and Administration.
